Mine are 3 arabicums and the rest obesums, or obesum hybrids.
The first one I saw was at an agricultural reseach station in the Republic du Niger in 1978. It was about 2 meters tall, and a meter wide at the base. Quite a magnificent plant. Leafless in bloom, it was even more amazing. They are not native to Niger, and no one knew how long that plant had been there, nor even what it was. After years of growing them, I now have 6 double seed pods this year! Quite exciting. I still think they don't make particularly good bonsai. But maybe I'lll find out otherwise as I get more experience. Either way, they are beautiful plants.

Hi, Randy:
That second Adenium you posted is really nice as well :-) As you are really good with tropicals, do you have any experience with citrus, specifically, calamondin orange and lemon (C. limon "Lisbon")...how to promote flowering, fruiting, etc.? Thanks! Tom |

Hi Tom, With citrus warm location, lots of sun, and fertilizer should do the trick. I've grown quite a few citrus and don't care for the way they like to branch. Grow a little too quick for my taste.

They are tropical. Outside during the growing season with lots of sun and protected from the cold in the fall and winter. If you want to contact me privately I might be able to help you.

I believe they are very poisonous so take care and wash your hands and clean your tools.

I'd guess they will survive down to 10C. But they like it warmer. My son keeps one inside in a room without even a window in the winter. He doesn't water it all winter. It drops it's leaves and does OK until spring. In summer, it loves heat and light. Your English in understandable. That is what counts. That and a love of bonsai, or adeniums.
