My New Korean Hornbeam

just got this hornbeam and i LOVE it, what do you guys think...

It's nice. I like the shape. Two comments, nebari is absent and foliage is poor. Other then that, this tree has potential.

I brightened this one up so I could see it better, thought I would post it here.....

I dont see a problem with the foliage myself. I think that it is a nice hornbeam. I would however expose the base and the roots if possible. Now that is if there is a nebari there. I would think that there would be. If so, IMO it would be better if the moss was gone and the roots exposed.

Other than that....great tree.

My problem with the foliage is more with the ramification. The branching seems "twiggy" rather than a branch structure.

@ Scott : Im not saying it's a bad tree, au contraire. I see potential and challenge in this tree. I would have bought it my self.

hi guys,

i think it was hard prunned and is quite 'twiggy' as you say camay, but i will hopefully improve that

Paul, i removed the moss( don't like the stuff anyway) and there is nebari although not the best i have ever seen
