is my ligustrum sick?

i was looking for some advise! my ligustrum has been looking sick recently, the leaves are yellowing with brown edges. its spring (april) now and i submerge water every night and mist. do u think im over doing it? also ive recently... well about a fortnight ago repotted this tree into a loam compost its clay like maybe i should try using a sand and soil mix.

You said you've been submerging bonsai every night?? have you been putting your finger into the soil about an inch or so to feel if its dry, Watering to schedule although convenient can be one of the worst things to do. I say you maybe over watering it. Also is the tree outside or inside, keeping them inside for long periods of time can also cause problems. I don't have much experiance with privets , i'm actually recieving my first one on thursday . My advise is water only when the top inch or so appears moderate dry and put it outside if it is'ent already. Privets are pretty hardy and it should hopefully make a full recovery. good luck

You are definitely overwatering by submersing it every night. And get it out of the claylike soil. It needs to have a free draining soil.
As noah said only water when it NEEDS it, other wise you will kill it.
