It's an indoor bonsai.i found these indoor shrubs at a garden shop and bought one.Took it home and found out it is Cuphea hysoppifolia.So....

I took it out of its pot(well, had to cut it out, was so rootbound!),pruned it drastically and applied some wire.Anyone else grown this as a bonsai?

Some image hosting services won't let you leech bandwidth that way. Others will. I think the problem this time is you are trying to embed an image from the webshots server here, and I guess they don't like that.

Once I had the address, I grabbed the image and uploaded it in place of your first image, no problem. It looks like that first image must have been interrupted during the transfer, because what was on the server was only 10K and it looks like you have 60K here, which is a huge file for such a small picture.

Feel free to experiment in Area 51 till you get the hang of it.

It looks like they don't even want you to link to a webshots image... This link doesn't even resolve unless you cut and paste it into your browser!

Larry .. you have stumbled on another variety seldom used in bonsai .. in time you can have a nice lil tree. You will find they get root bound very quickly. When in s fl. I root prunned twice a year. There are a few different varieties with white or purple flowers. While in Tn. I found a dwarf variety with purple flowers but haven't played with it much .. "ere's one that was a volunteer in another pot for many years.

peace.

Tom, thats a lovely exapmle there, has nice tree like qualities. Mine didnt have such an obvious trunk and had to dig down to find a single stem.In the end I simply found the thickest and removed the rest. I would like to gradually expose the roots on it , and theres still a lot of work to do on the branches, think it's going to be a semi cascade with one of the branches on the top forming the leader and crown and the branch on the right doing the cascade thing!
