My first tree
This is the frist tree that I ever did. I have had this tree for 20 or so years. The pot I had picked up at a garage sale. Now I have only done 3 or 4 in the last 20 years but I wanted to know what people think of my tree. I think he is really starting to look like a real tree. I have only repotted him 4 times always in the same pot. The copper wire used came home with my husband from constructions sites. He does need a trim but just wanted to get your thought befor grooming him. This is my frist time to the list and have really enjoyed going thru the post, I didnt know there was that much info out there. When I started him I worked from a book that I had recived as a Christmas present Bonsai Techniques by John Naka. Any help would be great. I hope this works if not sorry Flyn

Re: My first tree
Well, I'm just starting, and you certainly have more time in this than me, but I would suggest to show the all the trunk in the tree... I mean remove those leaves that cover the main trunk... besides that, only redirect some branches to have them all in the "same" angle... But I really love your tree... it's amazing... I wish I can get my trees looking so nice someday... good luck, and don't do a thing until you read more posts (because, I'm a begginer, maybe I'm saying only the wrong things
) bye

Re: My first tree
What a wonderful tree!
Congratulations on keeping such a beauty going for so long. I'd respectfully disagree with the previous poster - the tree benefits from the few foliage clouds that obscure small sections of the trunk. Removing these would give it a skeleton-like look that would be decidedly less attractive.

Re: My first tree
Well, I don't know, I think that I like that kind of trees, that look so old that you can distinguish the trunk all the way to the top... don't know maybe too much sun makes me go nuts
hehehe...
