Re: My cedrus group

Then I planted them as a group, I know the pot should be shallower (as we spoke yesterday with Matt) but I did my best...

Re: My cedrus group

These don't look like any Cedrus I have ever seen. More like a Pistache or Sumac or something.

In any case, remember, here are some group planting guidelines that may improve your group.
[*] the main tree should be the tallest and widest tree. If you have two trees competing to be #1, you can use your shear to solve the problem.[*] The main tree should be just off center, usually in the center third of the pot. There are exceptions to this if you had for instance a wind-influenced group the main tree might be more toward the outside, but it appears yours is all the way on the left.[*]You should be able to see the trunk of every tree from the front of the planting. I thought at first that the smallest trunk is obscured behind the largest, but it appears it is just planted at a different angle.[*]Trees generally lean away from each other slightly to get better light[*]You can vary the height of the soil in the container somewhat to help create a more interesting planting. It can swell a bit under the main tree you can have two mounds with a diagonal arrangement - larger in the foreground left, smaller in the background rear[*]This pot is rather too deep for appearances sake, but the trees will grow fine in it.

Regards,

Matt

Re: My cedrus group

Well, about the species... can't tell, but I was said they were cedrus... don't have a clue... Ok, I tried to change the angles a little, then to add some soil under the main tree... About the pot... well it was the best I could get...

Re: My cedrus group

"Cedrus" is a genus of short needled evergreens called Cedars. They are conifers, not really anything like what you have here.

You can find three members of the genus Cedrus in this list:

Re: My cedrus group

I did a little research, and I think they are Acrocarpus fraxinifolium
