Mugo pine - logo tree

This Mugo pine (Pinus mugo) is my logo tree. It is 70 cm high, about 150 years old, pot by Derek Aspinall. It was collected in teh Swiss Alps and styled by myslef since 1989.

best regards
Walter Pall

Re: Mugo pine - logo tree

What a nice find, Walter!

You must be very proud of this. I am thinking when I look at it that I would like to see some more openings in the silhouette and that an increase in the negative space would make this more treelike and less shrubby.

The pot and deadwood make me feel that this the appearance should be bunjin influenced and this is rather lush.

In the virtual I tried to create a lighter feeling in the mass of the tree. I think it could take more than what i have done here. I also lowered the tree into the container more. I think this could be a more settled appearance than the mounded soil, but I understand there are practical considerations and roots to be dealt with.

Regards,

Matt
