bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

i have only seen three of these, other than my own, used as bonsai, one on this site and two at NE Bonsai in Mass. i am looking to build up the foliage and create two fuller pads. i have already pruned some of the tree to start some backbudding to accomplish this, but, i figured i'd open the tree for suggestions. i have cut the background from the pic for easier virts if anyone has one. thanx,

chris

i have a couple in bonsai pots but i've not been able to achieve much
1) ramification
2) back budding
3) leaf size reduction
hence, i've just got em around the house in low light rooms as they seem to be able to tolerate varying light levels.

good luck to you and let us know if you have success. i'd be happy to retrieve mine from houseplantville and move them to potensai village.

if anyone is interested, this is what i have done to my ming, though this is only the MS Paint prototype and not an actual photo of the pruned tree. i have begun to get some new buds on the bare areas and the tree looks like it will fill out nicely. the first pic is what i did for pruning, the second shows what i am hoping for.
