Hey Ross,
WOW, those are some very impressive Trees!!
I was lucky enough to attend the Victorian show, but couldn't make this one, but by the looks of things, I missed a very good day out!

Hopefully next year?

Thanks, Mac.

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing your upside-down bonsai with us. xD

Yet again a wonderful display of trees at Northwest Bonsai. It was great to finally meet up with and talk to other BonsaiTalk members from Melbourne. Finally got to put faces to names like ‘Fozz & DavidN’. I was particularly impressed watching David give a demonstration on styling & potting a juniper to a captive audience. His enthusiasm for bonsai was very evident and infectious.
All in all I had a wonderful day and viewed some spectacular trees.
Hopefully we will catch up and do it all again at the next forthcoming shows at Ballarat & yes; my clubs show in Geelong.

Hi Fozz and Stephen
I'm glad you enjoyed our club's Exhibition. As you can imagine a lot of work goes into holding these events and it is all voluntary so having feedback is great. It was a bit disappointing not seeing the other Melbournites from this forum on the weekend.

I have watched Bonsai Northwest change considerably over the last 8 years or so from a small group of 30 members and a small exhibition, to now having a comparble Exhibition to Vic Society and monthly meetings pushing 100 members at each meeting night which I think would be the close to the largest gathering of any bonsai club in Australia.

Thanks Stephen for you comments about my demonstration. It's always enjoyable when the audience gets involved. BTW I also saw that huge smile on your face when you found that pine!!!!!

Thanks again

David

Thanks for the posting FOZZ. I was in the nursery all weekend so missed the show.

I was pleased to see that the Sunday Herald/Sun used an image from the 1990's Juniper creation pictorial essay that I did for them to promote the show.

cheers
Lindsay

Thumbs up

Gday Fozz & Co!

Great work yet again, Fozz - I think we might have to appoint you our SE Oz photo correspondent! (It looks like lighting conditions were a little more of a challenge to the photographer than at the BSV Show, but you've managed to capture the essence of the trees nicely.) I would like to have visited the Bonsai Northwest Show, but I'd already spent my quota of Saturdays away from my fledgling family - as well as my Bonsai budget for the year. Looks like it was quite a show: they certainly do like their Root-Over-Rocks on that side of town!

Thanks again - see you there next year?

Fly.
