Meet Angel

Angel is one of four Chinese elms that I orderd online from Evergreen Gardenworks in April. When I recieved her she was in a 2 3/4" pot with no leaves and very few small branches. Since then I have repotted her into a larger pot for growth and did little to no pruning. I am trying to work slow because I am a newbee and know very little. Here are several pics of Angel. I am looking for ideas (style, front, what to or not to cut, etc.). Or should I continue to leave her alone? Anything is helpfull. If it matters, she now resides in Ohio/z5. I'll post pics of the others soon.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Pete

Re: Meet Angel

If I were you I would prune the long branches back by half. Then water and feed well, wich seems to be no problem with you. In about a month she will start to branch out more.

I'm trying to say the tree seems real healthy. With must mean you are watering and feeding well. It was kind of a compliment.

Re: Meet Angel

Pete,
It's got a few nasty bends in the trunk. I personally think the Chinese elm looks best when its got a relatively straight trunk. It grows naturally in a broom shape but you find all kinds in Bonsai.
