Mealey Bug - The Photo

Just playing around with my new camera and took this picture of a Mealey bug on my Greed Island Ficus. I remeber when I first encountered these pests I could not find a good photo to confirm my bug diagnosis. Since I think this picture very accurately represents what they look like I wanted to post it. Of course there isn't a size reference here to show how tiny this little guy actually is but suffice to say he was much smaller than the camera/picture makes him look.

Any yes I "nuked" him after taking the photo

Wow Bill!
That's the first 4" mealy bug I've ever seen!!!

next thing ya know I'll be seeing 12" Eastern Sawfly caterpillars and 12" Gypsy Moth caterpillars.

Dale:

We're just coming out of winter so the "real" bugs should be out soon. I'll see if I can photograph a foot-long bug for you. Stay tuned....I'll add some pics later. I'm only lucky enough to have mealey and scale available this time of year.
