Lucky Find.
Hey all, This is probably my best find yet to date. Its a shimpaku juniper. The pics are not the best. The pot sucks but was the only one I had that would fit it. Here is how it looks with a just little foliage cut off.

I think that this particular tree would look really cool if you planted it on a large stone, maybe lava rock? Ive seen trees that have been trained to grow with their roots growing down the back of a rock that look 100 times better than if they were in a pot. Youre tree is already better than the ones ive seen in this style.
Nice tree Tom |

Well the 1st order of business on this tree is KEEP IT ALIVE!!! Unfortunately I didn't get as many roots as would have made me happy. (see pic) I am keeping it in the shade and misting the foliage throughout the day. I reduced the foliage about 85% after collecting it. The pot has to go, its true. This was one of those unexpected, get it now or never collecting experiences. The only pot that would fit was this one. There is all ways next year for a repot. In the future I plan to carve the deadwood and develop thicker pads. The pads and minor branches are very well formed for a tree I collected just 2 days ago. Anyway thanks for the comments. I am very excited about owning this monster. ~Ken
