Looks like a reject but can it be saved
Hi - this is my first bonsai project.
Punica Granatum石榴 It does not even look like a bonsai to me, but untill I find a bonsai supplier in darkest shanghai this is all i can get. (They tried to convince me that wire cutting into the trunk was a good thing on an Elm they tried to sell me!) I was thinking this weird thing needs to be cut right down, or at least to cut off the smaller branch/trunk that is growing from the base. It has a crappy stub near the bottom which looks like some body could not be bothered! Can it be saved, by me, a beginner? Any suggestions will help me to get started. |

You can either cut it back and style it as a small tree, or replant it into a larger pot and let it continue to grow.
