With a trunk that straight, are you going to shoot for a formal upright?

I think with that branch placement you could develop some very decent taper within the next three years or so.

G'day Elmboy,

Large sized pic is great, about restyling the tree, you might think to reduce its height and make a grand Shohin of it [perhaps with an elongated, GOZA-KAKE, branch down near to the base of the trunk].

Just a thought,
Nigel

Big Smile

G'day Elmo good choice at $40 and i believe you could go for slanting style if formal upright is not your thing. Is this the chinesis variety? The pic size is ok as one can get the detail.

Regards Ash

Nice liquidamber, it looks like a liquidamber orientails. The price also gives me a hint that it is an orientails. The common liquidamber we have around the san diego area are dirt cheap. i have one like yours and have been looking for more. Where did you get it ?

They grow fast and you will have a great looking some day.
Thanks for sharing it.

Also your picture size is perfect. Wish I could get mine to look like that.

Peace
Bob

Might it not be the cultivar, 'Gumball'?
