Lilly Pilly -from Nursery Discount Bin

Hi i have just wired and styled this lilly pilly and thought i would see what people think,i found this tree in the discount sale section of flower power,it was burnt and looked nearly dead ,but i knew it would resprout so i bought it for $5 .This tree had a section of dead wood down the right side of the trunk which was just perfect to achieve some taper, and i will carve and refine it later on in spring,The branches all had to be regrown from chosen buds and it has taken a few years to get it into a small pot ,i think this tree is comming allong nicely and will fill out quite well in the following years -would like to hear what you think and mabye suggest a future pot.

thanks

Nice find! Youd be surprised what other bargins you could find at nurseries like these. Especially the not so reputable ones were things get old because no body buys them and were nursry men are just dying to get them off their hands for next to nothing. I like the way youve styled it. The only thing would be is that first branch needs to be vissible from were it eminates so move it just a little more to the side. Thats all other than that very nice job.

hey felloow aussie, nice to see it in a big tub for growing on. They bush up real nice if you let them grow and trim back hard. You have nice shape to, keep it in that format you have.
