Like A Proud Papa

I went to the Golden State Bonsai Federation Fall Expo at the Huntington Library over the weekend. To my surprise, I saw the below on display... I got so excited like a proud papa. That's a shohin stand I made last year. It looked great loaded with fantastic trees from the GSBF south collection.

Enjoy! I know I did
(sorry for the distracting shadow)

Awesome, Paul! I'd feel like a proud papa too.

It's a lovely stand, and it must come across it unexpectedly in a show.

(Though as a proud papa, I'd probably politely request that the take the shoes off of my baby's head and the hat off of her feet. That is, I'd suggset that they move the juniper up and the fig(?) down.)

Cheers,
Carl

Too bad that the apex of the juniper will (almost) touch the top of the circle

Good point Attila.

But when my baby's hat doesn't fit, I buy her a new one rather than putting it on her feet.

back at you.

That's quite a cool stand!

I found the original thread too, when it was built.

My baby would be proud to wear it on her feet anytime!

Regards,

Matt

Thanks, guys.
I kept checking on the stand Saturday and Sunday worried that it fell apart or something. That really shouldn't happen but you never stop worrying. I guess it's kind of like having a daughter
