Large maple
Here are a couple of pics of a large palmatum in spring and last night. It is over three feet tall, and although it has a very high split for three trunks, I have always liked it as a more "naturalistic" tree.
Please understand the photos were of "opportunity" and not tweaked for better photo/display quality. John
