Question Bald cypress taper

Looks good.
I have recently begun a bald cypress originally 12 feet cut and air layered to 1foot my goal is to have a mature styled cypress that looks great @ 360 degrees with a good taper. After one trunk chop the new leader took over. However, it only looked good from the front or back. My solution is to take a four inch section higher than another leader, drill a hole at an angle thru the 4 inch section and thread the leader to the top. I’ve done this with some modification. Does anyone believe this may work or has any one heard of this technique before?

Here's the smaller one of the two after its chop 2 months ago. The second pic was snapped 2 days ago...

I like the base of this one more than the other one. Bigger is not always better....

Larry, I guess both of us have a thing for BCs. David did give me some advice and moral support on the phone when I was digging the larger one. It took about 6-7 hours to get it off the ground. This was no swamp muck but hard top soil mixed with some compacted gravel.

Jorge

I guess this sums up my fondness for the larger one as well Irene...It was a labor of love to dig em' up (emphasis on the word LABOR) . They are my babies.
