Kusamono - Hosta 'Medusa'

A recent attempt at Kusamono using a minature hosta I potted this spring in a black glazed pot from a local artist.

Hey Will,

Where do you get your mini hostas, and what do you do for winter care?

Nice image! And, there is a pot there...if only visible after tweaking with Photoshop! ;-)

I got this one from a nursery in Northern Ireland. In the winter I bury them, pot and all, into the garden up to the pot rim and then mulch over with pine needles.

This one will be ready to split up this spring.

No, I have not used this in a display as of yet but if I ever do use it as an accent, I will certainly post pictures.

Thank you,

Will

yes please!!! What are some good accent plants that are hardy in Coolder winters and dry summers (Colorado)? You are in Michigan, correct?
