bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

Good show guys!

"It looks as though they wintered well for you, any problems I should be aware of?"

I had one last year (collected around this time of year, growing in a club members yard). It has yet to shoot any leaves this year. I wintered it in my shed. I still see some green in the root area but no leaves (sounds like my elm and zelkova).

Anyway, you may want to try other methods of wintering. Cold frame maybe? John is in a warmer climate than ours so he probably has no trouble.

True, although these were left outside in small, two inch plastic nursery pots, on the ground under benches, all winter. We did manage to get into the mid-teens (F) on several nights, with a couple of ice storms and a scattering of snow. That said, our average daily high in Jan. is around 50-53 F. The hosta in the red pot, pictured above, has not yet flowered though... ;-)
