Kusamono - Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears'

The small leaves on this hosta attracted me at first, the slight bluish color struck me later.

Yes, this one will get flowers on four inch stalks in mid summer, I will update then.

Pootsie, I'm afraid I have to agree with your pot assessment, thanks, I need to place an order with Horst soon or find another supplier.

Looking good, Will. I was able to obtain some miniature hosta a couple of years ago, and the are doing well this year so far. The flower is a light purple as it opens. They are pictured below...the pots are about one inch in height.

John,

You put me to shame!

Very nice Hosta's what variety are they? They look like my 'Tom Thumbs' and where did you get those fine looking pots?

It looks as though they wintered well for you, any problems I should be aware of?

Glad to see other Hosta heads here.

Thanks for your comments, Will. They may be Tom Thumb, but I'm really not sure. I got these from Julian Adams a couple of years ago.

The red pot is one inch in height, and I bought it from Sean Smith a few years ago. the brown one (one and a half inches tall) is really nice...a satiny patina that doesn't photograph well. I bought it in Tokyo in 2001.
Here are a couple more pics, taken today.

Lovely hostas, Will and John.

Here's one (species/cultivar unknown, I fear) with baby's tears and moss, in a Hagedorn pot.

Best wishes,
Carl
