Kingsville Boxwood Saikei

I put this 7 tree saikei together back iin the mid-'90's. Height to the tallest tree is 19 inches. The pot measures 30 inches lengthwise. HEAVY!!
Today was a cleanup and re-moss.

Thanks David, and welcome to the forum.

Years ago, I was fortunate to have had several workshops with Tom Yamamoto, who taught at the Kawamoto saikei school in Japan.

One of my favorite memories of Tom is when I was attending a demonstration he was doing for a bonsai club. He saw me in the audience and asked me to come up and be his assistant. I felt honored.

Saikei

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your welcome, I would love to have studied with Sensei Kawamoto or Sensei Yamamoto, they are legends as far as I am concerned. Alas due to finance I was left to study Saikei from the Kawamoto book which has yet to be surpased. I started my studies in Saikei in 1985, aged 14, which has culminated in being asked to chair the International Association of Saikei, a great honour. I am doing my best to further the art of Saikei in the UK by demonstrating at bonsai clubs and have recently had a tentative demo request from Croatia. If you would like to join the Association you can contact me at the address below.

I would love to share ideas with you especialy as you have studied with one of the greats.

Yours in Saikei.

David
