Clay, I, for one, really appreciate your comments. When I looked at this tree, I could sense immediately that there were major problems, but felt totally at a loss as to what to do. Your comments provide a direction for this tree and really helpful guidance for those of us at around Carmi's level. I'd be real surprised if Carmi is anything other than appreciatve for your comments. I know I would be.....that is if I can EVER figure out how to get a picture in.

Hi Clay,
I appreciate very much your remarks. First the pot, as I mentioned the pot is a training pot, it is very difficult, if at all, to find any bonsai pots in Israel. Second the foliage, the foliage needs serious styling attention but as the tree is a nursery stock, bought at 5$, and had a major "operation", I would do the detailed training after the tree will be more vigor (I should take some "before" pictures). Thirdly the nebari, the base of the trunk is covered with soil for the purpose of developing the rots. This tree is not a contest tree it was presented as a tree in training, I thank you very much for your virtual, it helped a lot to clarify what bothered me in this tree, it is the angle of the trunk, I will try to bend it more, like your virtual. BTW I am not familiar with the word "semlence" (English is not my first language). Fred, I thank you for "leveling" me, I would love to see some of your trees, I do not see the problem for a man that had worked "35 years in Computer Systems development" to upload a picture…

Carmi, you are so right about the pictures! It's driving me nuts! To tell the truth, I haven'y been feeling too well for the last two or three weeks and have only wrestled with the soft ware 2 or 3 times. However, it is getting to the point of being downright embarrasing!
