Juniper repot

This is a Juniper P Nana that I repotted this year. I styled it last year from nursery stock. But Something is bothering me but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe one of your artistic eyes can help I may have to Shari it at the point where the to upper branches split to give it a narrower look at the bulge. Make sense??

Re: Juniper repot

I think what bothers me is the bottom of the tree--if I'm seeing it right, it's like a stub with a right branch that makes a big smooth distracting curve. I don't know if it's possible, but I made a very crude virtual of lowering it in the pot and rearranging the branches. I gave up trying to redo the top--don't know how to do that. But you might get the idea.

I don't know if you can lower a juniper and get it to re-root or not. How about it, experts?

Re: Juniper repot

Unfortunately because of the number of branches at that point the bulge will continue to increase in size.

Another solution might be to carve that section of the tree into a jin. I'm between computers now, but maybe I can do a virtual on that later unless someone else wants to take a try.

Re: Juniper repot

Earl That is one of the things that bother me too. I think with Juniper P I can lower the trunk with each repot and it should be OK. I also plan on maybe pulling the top to the right and maybe Jinning the branch on the left as Matt has suggested (great idea by the way Matt) Between the both of you guys you gave me a great Idea. Lower the tree, pull the top to the right and Jin the branch on the lower left. FANTASTIC!! this would also keep that area from getting bigger and bigger. Have to watch the Jin though might get a bit tippsie . Now I have to learn how to do virtuals.
Thanks a million guys
John
