Juniper chinensis
this juniper was styled during the last two weeks. It is a formal cascade.
What do you think? More movement in the downward branch in the end? Because if I put more movement in this part, the outer tip will not be under the apex and rootbase, since the 'to be added movement' must be to the left, so away from apex and rootbase... |

Nice work Christiaan,
But I would like to see the cascade shortened a bit just my humble opinion. A Friend in bonsai John

Great work! I don't know if i'd shorten the cascade but in time you can "open" it up a bit with refined pads that taper a bit more,...but this is all stuff that i'm sure you're privy to already. Great tree brother.

Thanks guys for your comments!! I appreciate it!
Concerning the cascade branch: I am not really sure yet as to shorten the branch, or to bring more movement in it because of the reasons stated above in my first post. I'll keep you guys posted if any changes are made. thanks again! |

Update:
Due to vigorous growth and the fact that the wiring was about to grow in to the bark, I had to remove all the wires and re-style the tree. the pictures below show the restyling. The most right picture shows the tree before. This is what I've come up with: What do you think? |

Yes..I'd call that "vigorous growth"
As advice...I echo ZEN. Nice. I like it. |

Judging by the last set of pics I would want to remove the cascading branch, maybe leaving a stub to jin, or as a second route to shorten the long branch into frame for a informal upright formed tree.

Redpine,
Interesting comment, could you explain your thoughts to me as to why you would remove the cascading branch? I must admit, I have been thinking about doing that as well, so I am eager to hear your thoughts. And how about just shortening the cascading branch? |
