The Right Idea is:

We are looking at the right side of your cascade! Or, perhaps the left. But I think the right.

Regards,

Matt

I have attached this cascade as I think it is one of the best I've seen in person. I think you should aim for something like this if you are interested.

David,
that is sort of what i am aiming at, without such an extreme curve in it. as you can see in my pic, it starts to come back to the left towards the end of the cascade. keep your fingers crossed. thanks for the advice.

Hi Chris,
Very nice cascade start for sure. If I had it I think I would probably shorten it a little and maybe turn to the right a bit. Then start working your pads into horizontal plains. I really like what you are doing.
Here is a cascade that I started 6 years ago from nursery stock. I am still working on the pads though.

thanx jhill, i will turn it a bit upon the next repotting to better show the trunk and i do have some work ahead of me with the pads. as far as the length, although i think you have a beautiful tree yourself, i prefer a longer cascade. hopefully i will be able to maintain this length and accomplish a good balance btwn trunk, branch, and pad sizes.
