Juniper

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, so I thought I'd show a pic of my latest shimpaku, styled from nursery stock. I have it intentionally overpotted for now. It was suggested by Nick Lenz, that it would probably look really nice planted on a slab. I've never planted anything on a slab, but I think this might just someday find a home on a flat rock.

I really like this tree. I think with a little more refinement and pinching this would make a very nice windswept. I too think this would look nice planted on a slab. It always seems hard tome to find the right pot for windsepts trees. My two favorite styles are windswept and literati. I have been experimenting in combining the two styles and I actually love what I have done. I will post some of my windsepts soon.

Mailman,

I like this tree a lot. I would follow any suggestion from Nick Lenz. Though I've never seen his work firsthand, he's one of my favorite artists.

I like your tree, but I have one question.

It looks like the lower branch comes from behind the tree and crosses in front of the trunk. Is this the case or am I seeing it wrong?

Mittar,
The lower branch emerges from the front. After studying the posted picture, I can see how it looks like it comes from behind and crosses the main trunk. Actually this particular tree looks pretty good from several different positions. That's one advantage to having it potted in a round pot. LOL
