JP Nana Styled

Hello Everyone,

I've been clip and growing this juniper for a year and today decided to give it a first styling. Here's a before series.

David- good job. Could you give us abetter shot of the trunk base from your chosen front. Also, the top is a bit heavy. Hopefully, some of the virtual artists will suggest a great pot -- or so...

I like the new front and style. The heavy top left hand side branch is a bit distracting though but you can't do much there.

Great work David! I really like this tree and where you're going with it. What are the dimensions?

It's 16" tall. This is a first rough styling to get the big stuff in place. The apex has to be refined a lot more, but this is all for now, except for some tweaking. In the spring, it goes into a pot.

I liked this tree "before", even though it had a lot of problems....weak base, no taper and a fishhook at the top. I'd been clip and grow pruning to get branch structure and pads so it did have a few style options. Is this a keeper? I doubt it. A lot of refining would be necessary to make this an acceptable bonsai and I have better material coming along....but I have to do something while waiting :-).

dyedwab,,,you can better see the base in the before series. It's not the best. Good jp nana bases are hard to come by on these staked trees.

Best Regards,

David

After removing a few more branches and some tweaking. That's it for now.

Best Regards,

David
