Craig, from your pictures, the bonsai do not appear to be first rate. Nevertheless, in the beautiful setting you show, they add greatly to the total, overall impact of the lovely garden setting. Sort of makes me feel better about my belief that even second (or third or fourth) rate bonsai are a whole lot better than no bonsai at all!!!

Wrong guy, Fred--I didn't post the pics. I agree though, it's at least an attempt at bonsai. More refinement is needed. Craig Cowing NY Zone 5b/6a

Well said. I agree that they are not the best bonsai (I too thought the pomegranate was best), but they really added to the garden. This, I guess, is one example of how the display location of bonsai can change how you take it all into context. They also had some 100+ year old California Juniper bonsai there, but you can't see the trunk and about 1/2 the foliage in the pictures because they were in the back row and behind other plants of nearly the same height.

Nope
Disagree-ish.
The pomegranite has the most potential without doubt. However, the two formal upright junis, with a MUCH wider pot would be the best in the short term. IMHO of course. Fish.
