I did some more thinning and pruning this afternoon.
I still kept that lower branch and wired the leader back up for the time being, until I figure out exactly what I want to do.

That was exactly what I think you needed to do. And I agree that you should lose the lower right branch now. You can jin it to see what ya get, then lose it also if ya dont like it. Good show! Paul

I like Walter's idea but I still have some decisions to make since the picture of the front is so deceiving.
This diagram may explain what I'm talking about. There's a very large back branch the blends in with the side branches when viewed from the front. Eliminating some of that back branch may be part of the solution.
