introduction

Hello all,

Years of looking at bonsai on the web and then one day a buddy calls and says you have to come see this.
He was at his moms and needed some wire cutters. She told him to go ask her next door neighbor. He did, and there he stood looking at tons of bonsai.
I didn't hesitate to get my, well lets see now..., rear end over there to have a look. They are such nice people and let us just walk around and take it all in.
Since that day I have taken then three large Camellias, some Azaleas, a Crape Mytle and some North GA white and brown pines from a recent trip to the parents. Mixed in with the Azaleas was some Black Bamboo, the reason I'm digging most of this stuff up. They loved the bamboo.
They offered to teach me some things and of course I said yes. I'm going over tomorrow to pot another Camellia and some Black Bamboo. They are also going to teach me their method of starting a Ficus root over rock. I will try to take some pictures and post them for you to see.
For now I will leave you a link of some quick & dirty pics I took the other day.

Danny

As promised, here is a link to the ficus root over rock project. Not the direction I wanted to go, but they are teaching me how to do it with their plants and my rock. I let them go what ever direction they want to go. They said we will wait for a year then pull it out to rearrange and trim the roots and then repot it for another year.

Here is a picture of her Mugo Pine. It needs a bit of a trim.

I believe it was in NC for quite some time. She said her friend got tired of everyone asking to buy it so she brought it home.
