House Leeks mashed into lumps of concrete, or, Two new accents
Here’s a fresh batch of Sempervivum abuse* for the spring. The containers are blobs of Hypertufa (concrete, peat moss and perelite – used mostly for making troughs for alpine gardens). Also a bonus-springtime photo of some tiny yellow flowers (Draba rigida).

As I sat this morning, early, not having had tea...
and read "house leeks mashed into lumps of concrete...." my brain tried to make sense of the words. Almost like reading another language. House leeks....maybe they mean "leaks".... mashed into concrete...man, that's bad, when your house leaks and gets mashed into concrete....hmmmm...no, that's not right..... You see, having never heard of any plant called a house leek..... Whew. That left a mark. Joanie |
