Does anyone know what tree #5 might be? Is that expected natural growth for that species? That trunk is really different, incredible!

#5 is a zelkova and #7 is a malus if I remember correctly.
This was a show from members of the bonsai club of Hotsumi terakawa, and the trees were fantastic !

regards, René

Fantastic trees. Where is this show held? Somewhere in Europe, I'm guessing. Who were some of the artists?

Just curious,

Embarassed

If I remember correctly from my stash of Bonsai Europe the #5 tree is a Potentilla, I'll have to check tonight when I get home.

Cheers

This was in the Netherlands, europe's largest bonsai shop/reseller Lodder each year has a 2 day show with lots of activities. The artists were Kevin Willson and Hotsumi Terakawa.

Unless I'm wrong (which is usually the case!) #5 could be a rosemary....
