Hinoki

THought i would post this Hinoki Cypress that i've got to work on, and below is a virtual (if you can call it that, done in paint) of where i hope to take it.

All suggestions welcome if i'm somewhere near on track or not with the idea as i'm a touch imtimedated to start on the tree.

Cheers Jonny D.

Thought i would post a better picture of the tree by itself to see if that stimulates any interest, if not, never mind.

Jonny, Hi! I only have one Hinoki and it is young, therefore I am not the one to comment on your tree. I will give you this advise..
When taking a picture of a tree, try and have a solid background and a reasonable amount of light to show the inside by the trunk. Your pictures are very busy and the area by the trunk a bit dark. You can use a whilte piece of paper (real big) or a sheet or a very solid background. As for the lighting, try it outside (I can see you are) on a slightly cloudy, but bright, day. This should help in getting better pixs and I'm sure the more established photog's here will give you even better advise.

Jay

Jonny, this one must have slipped past the ole TB radar... post another pic like Jay suggests and there may be more replies

Looks promising material BTW, I think your virtual is a good target to aim for. (No, I don't mean with a flamethrower... )

Regards,

TB

Red Leaf Wintering hinoki cypress

I just purchased a hinoki cypress at local greenhouse. The tree is in a 3 galon nursey pot,and is to late for repoting.I live in an apartment,so I was wondering if anybody could give advice in how to keep the root-ball from freezing and dying this coming winter.
