Welcome Martin. That is one NICE tree. Tell us about it!
The one in the test area looks like a trident, is it?
They are both wonderful trees!

Jay

Thanks for your "welcome"

Your where right Jay (sorry for my bad school english).
The one in the test arena is an trident, approx. 10 years and since that year a littel bit "restyled". So I have to wait a few more years :-) . Maybe you found out that it is growing over a rock. I changed the front view to the old back view and remove the upper part of the stone. Now I hope and trust to the future that the healing progress will cover the ugly gray part in the middle of the thrunk.

This one here now is a yew. This is one of my favorite kind of tree (the yew's). Growing is fast if you take the right care. The one on the picture is approx. 35 - 40 years old and was once a bush in a garden. I own him since the end of the last year. He was shaped in november last year and this is the reason that it need, let my say, a little more green ;-)
OK.
See you Jay!
Martin

Martin, no need to apologize for your English (it is not your native language). Your trees are wonderful. I have been doing Bonsai only for a few years. I have obtained a few Yews. They are in the ground in my back yard. I obtained them recently and still do not know if they will live. But, if they do, I will remember yours as a thought of where I can go with mine. Do you have any before pictures? I will try and get some of my yews in the next few days.

jealous

The only problem I can see with this tree is that it's not in my backyard.

Hello.

Someone ask for an older picture of the yew. I just got this one. It shows the tree after I bought it end of 2001. You'll see that its over all shape was a little differend to that of today. My(!!) opinion is, that it looks more compact today. This was reached by bringing the first branch closer to the thrunk.
The thrunkbase ist approx 36 cm in diameter.
Ok. So far, so good.
Bye.
Martin

Thanks Clay for the compliment.

To "let him out of the hand" means "to let him grow wild" for one up to two years? That is exactly what I'll want do the next years :-)
