Help with my redwood!

I have this redwood, and can't decide what to do with it, so I thought I'd ask you guys. Whaddya think?

Jack,

It looks like its growing very well in that grow box, I think you should leave it there till the trunk thickens more, mayby 3-4 more years is how long I would leave it.

That one's easy: let it grow for a few years.

Trunk chop as you go, and it'll thicken up and taper nicely. While there are exceptions to every rule, redwoods tend to make better large-size bonsai because of their large and unruly foliage.

If you want a bonsai now, I would cut it down by about a third, then wire and trim the branches into a formal bonsai. The branches would have to shortened quite a bit. Otherwise, let it grow awhile.

Looks very healthy and I also hope you foot is healing well!

hi jack

i agree with the posts above - let it grow some to thicken the trunk. maybe some sacrifice branches low and keep it trimed a bit on top so that it doesnt get away from you. i know nothing about these redwoods so id get advice from the experts
