Help With Front
Please help me pick a front for this Gardenia. The first pic is the day I got it home from the nursery. It was in such poor help that the owner gave it to me. Does it have any potential or is it a lost cause? I repotted it immediately as the roots were mostly rotten.

I like the second view only because the trunk line is unobstructed. Do you have a design in mind for this tree?

I like the second one as well. Not sure which style yet. If you could see clearly you would notice just to the left of where the trunk emerges from the ground there is a root coming down from a limb (reminds me of a ficus areal root). All the limbs happen to be going in the same direction so I'm thinking something between a windswept and a slant. Open to suggestions however. The tree was so near dead when I got it I probably won't do anything to it untill next unless instructed to do otherwise.
