Hatanaka Shimpaku
Howdy All,
Well I've had my eyes on this tree for a while. This tree was just a large bush in a round pot (to say the least..haha) before Colin Lewis and the gang at Bonsai West took it out of the pot, a few clips here and there..haha..and I got the pleasure to repot it a few months ago into this Tokoname pot..and well..here's the tree. It's a Hatanaka Shimpaku on its own wood..nothing grafted..and now after twisting Mike Levin's arm..I've got it!...Enjoy! =) Anthony* |

It is a very nice tree (more than i could wish for), however the pot feels a little bit too small to me. The pot is very nice in itself (more than i could wish for) but in my rather worthless opinion i think a slightly wider, slightly deeper pot would balance the foliage better.
At first glance i thought it seemed a bit too round on top, but the more i look, the more it grows on me. Al

I agree that the pot looks a bit on the small side--for now anyway. That will probably be corrected, when the plant's foliage is thinned out. It is currently top heavy--but it is a very very nice tree.

Ok , so that's how it works huh,...consider this the first twist of your arm to pass the tree on to me. LOL
Very loverly,...I usually don't like to dense a canopy, but on this it is a very nice far veiw. Thanks for sharing.
