I haven't been to many shows yet, just a few of the bay area local ones. I also was surprised that the vendor area was so small, with few trees for sale. The display exhibit, while superb, was also smaller than I expected. I think the Redwood Empire Bonsai Society show, a local club show, had more in both respects. I'm sure those of you with more experience than me can comment on the relative quality (rather than quantity) of the two, but some of the same trees were exhibited in both. I guess I didn't realize just how special the REBS club show was until I saw the GSBF last weekend.

Carl loves those.
Carl, are you calling them Exxon Valdez style?
If not, I would propose to add this new name to the list of syles.

Brian,
I agree with you as well. While the $65 per day admission fee let you see some great demos and workshops, the REBS show was just as nice (and free). Next year, for the price that a room costs, I think I'll buy a nice, finished tree each day from the vendor area and just sleep in my car.
Scott.
