and on my hortcultural and artistic skills it seems

Absolutely, Larry. Otherwise, how would one expect to improve their skills?

Larry,

It is true that if you criticise the tree you criticise the artist. But then, that's just the way of it.

There is no point getting the hump when you don't get the comments you expected.

Regards,

Chris.

Chris, it's time for a review of

Treebeard's Dictionary of Concise English Slang

conkers = horse chestnut nuts; as in
"There are beech nuts on the grass. There are also acorns and conkers."

stitched up / fitted up / trussed up = falsely accused, or framed; as in
"I can't help feeling that I have been stitched up."

getting the hump = to be annoyed and go sulk in a corner; as in
"There is no point getting the hump when you don't get the comments you expected."

cracker = ; as in
"The pot is a little cracker, with a wonderful colour and shape."

Larry,

Crasula is a good plant for bonsai. In south africa they are very popular due to the fact that they can handle windowsills and what not.

Here's my suggestion. Crassulas need to be consantly pruned if you want them to be small. Right now, it is small, but the trunk needs a lot of thickening to do, if it is to be expected to hold the weight of the leaves. I suggest sticking it in the ground or a really large pot for some time, and leave it to grow. The branches will get heavier faster than the trunk gets thicker (or so it will seem for a while) but Don't be tempted to prune it at all. It will develope a trunk so quickly, you'll have plenty of material to play with come next year.

Regards,
Dane
