Question Fuchsia Bonsai. Die Schone Wilhelmine.

8 years old. Since this photo was taken (27.08.02), has been repotted into a shallow oval dish and stands self-supported. As you see nodes are very close together, so have to continuously remove leaves and some stems to keep this shape. Measurement from top of tree to soil level (measured vertically) is 7 inches. Advise for improvement please.

Hello Clay, nice to know your here too, love your trees. Yes above is now in it's new pot, waiting for leaf growth to come back, as soon as this happens will post another pic here (as you know from GW always strip them of foliage and flowers in late Autumn - this gives them a rest period). Am new here, I suppose I should be really posting this size on the Mini Bonsai Forum. BTW Clay can't get your homepage, comes up 'Page Not Found'.

As promised Clay,
Here it is repotted, self supporting and new leaf growth just beginning (might even repot again and put it to more of an angle,) what do you think?

Sorry Clay,
omitted photo, have also altered angle of front nebari, it did crack, but didn't snap off completely, therefore piece of plastic to encourage re-growth, spray this piece every day with rainwater

Really like your little fuchsias. I have on myself and it has been a very prolific flowering tree, even in the winter months.

Thanks BonsaiOR,
Yes mine are all in the greenhouse during the winter months here and the Encliandra type fuchsias are flowering away. This is only a baby called Snowflake.

Thanks Jonathan,
Yes you would be ok in that zone if you have a greenhouse or conservatory where you can give them winter protection. Have to keep them at 45f.

If you go to my website there are lots more to see and lots of tutorials on how to grow and care for them.

When choosing varieties main thing to bear in mind is small flowered varieties
