Finally, Fall Color!

I waited as long as I could, I kept the tree under the shade of some trees in my backyard. When the temps finally dropped, I stuffed the green thing out into the cold. The tree turned in three days. I can't believe it is Dec. 23, and this is when I get color. Most people get this sort of thing in Sept!

BTW, OMC this is that stand that I picked up in the antique store in Santa Cruz for 55.00 bucks. Rosewood and everything!

Best regards, Bonsai-al

This tree will be the subject of a ground layer this spring. I am finally going to cut off those ugly roots. The trunk will also get some thread grafts. These will be from plants that will be hung from the plant and not branches bent down for the graft.

I would like to put a branch in the bald spot on the right. Shorten a few, define a few, and develop the apexes. I will layer the tree at the line to use the swelling that has ocurred due to the roots.
Where I would like the branches are outlined along the tree.

This will be a demonstration I will do for the Feb. meeting of our club. I will take pics along the way for all to share.

Great stand Al....... Oh yeah the tree has nice colour too. I'm surprised it turned so quickily though.
