Well I just got this guy at a steal. It was mismarked for 29.99$ and on top of that it was 40% so I got a 300$ bonsai for 17$. It need a little work as it was let grow out like crazy. it about 31" tall and 25" wide.

I like how you have pruned the tree, however, if it were mine, I would cut back the two branches on the left even more. Then I would let the tree fill in to that overall size with back budding, basically not letting it get much bigger than it is. Great start. Would like to see it at summers end. Larry

I think what John is saying is that these trees can be found at many nurseries for $30 all day long.

Still I nice tree and it should be fun to work with.

John how much do you want for that property?

nice find! and good first pruning. i'd put it in a bigger pot for a year, and see how much those roots fatten up.

You said it was 'mismarked' as $29.99, that sounds about right. The price is usually proportional to the width of the trunk, not the height or width. Its already a nice tree (even nicer at $17), some more aerial roots would look fantastic.

I'd hold onto that land if I were you John. If global warming turns out to be real, then you may be left with some seafront property!
