Ficus Removal Project

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do with this tree once i remove it.

I remember seeing this just before the Crash of '03. This may be a difficult plant to work with, but it appears that a broom style tree is the direction it would naturally tend to go. That is, unless the branches are dead!

I think I would cut back that large central trunk and let it recover in place for the rest of the season. Using the existing roots in the ground, it should push rather quickly into the remaining live branches.

If this were not a tropical plant, I would suggest waiting until early spring to do the cutback, but it is a ficus, so that's the direction I would head.
