Ficus

Although I frequently work on larger material I have a number of shohins. Sometimes one forgets how very beautiful they are. A ficus natalensis that I have recently pruned and defoiliated.

Nice tree Hank,
I like the pot too. I think it's a very good combination.

Beautiful tree Hank. Certain species of ficus make wonderful shohin bonsai.

As for the pot, IMHO it could be a bit smaller, but with shohins you can break the size of pot rule just because of the basic horticultural needs of the tree.

Thanks for the kind comments. Usually my brother's comment is "nice thumb"

Here are a few more figs. They are in small growing containers rather than bonsai pots and in different stages. This ficus natalensis was trimmed back a couple of weeks ago and partially wired.

I have just removed a bit of foilage from this fig for the photo. It still has to be pruned and wired.
