Fat Trunk's Fever

I saw that thread about a workshop, but what I was amazed about was the job of Doug, and in his page I found nice pics about his projects, so I had an overpopulation of Bahuinas, so I decided to something like he did... I must say this Bahuinas I have, flower white, pink and purple, and I mixed them up, so I really want to see this tree flower one day... well, I also want to see it as a tree indeed...

Well, everything started with finding the right piece of wood, I went all over my house, the neighborhood, and nothing, but I remembered that huge dead tree where I place my plants, I looked for a piece, and started the fun cutting it... it was quite hard, since I had to cut it with a school saw well, here is the piece I took...

Then, with a cooking knife I carved some tree like form, to place arround all the seedlings, well, after fighting a little, and escaping closely of taking off my thumbs, I got this (of course, it's far from what Doug did) anyway,...

Then I began to prepare the soil where I was going to plant them, well here is the sand and the soil, just before mixing them...

Well, after placing all the seedlings arround the old piece of wood, I wraped them with wires, and as Jules did in Voodo Bonsai, well I used also some nails, but just some, because I learned what happened to Jules, so no WAX either well, I used heavy wire, wich I'll be checking continously, since this fellows are FAST growers...

Here are them all wraped and see those amazing roots

Lastly, the whole tree... Thanks for the patience... BTW, I'll be removing that big whip, but after some time, I just want them all to recover, and I hope that they all stay alive, there are about 20-25 trees there ok...

Sorry, it was not Craig Crowing but Doug

YEah I have also been to Doug's site and it is fantastic what he has attempted. I am looking forward to trying this technique out. I recommend everyone to check out Doug's site and see his trident techniques. Very informative and fun.

Nice try Jose and hope it works out.
