No nebari, but at least a 6 inch base (not 8inch as I previousy stated, that would be insane) when I dug down a little. £1 for scale. It's sprouting new needles now, and some male flowers (those purple things).
I will continue removing the old, compacted soil bit by bit every couple of years, don't want to rush things. (I've already removed about 1/3 from the base and around the sides, and the rootball was surprisingly shallow.I'm feeding on a half dose of 12-12-14 inorganic fert pellets every fortnight. Cheers!
