Fall color in South Carolina...

Finally, something worth getting the camera out for. John Dixon previously commented about his muted fall colors this year in North Carolina. NC typically has much better fall color than we do, but here are a couple of trident maples showing something. The Japanese maples looked OK this year too, but my ginkgos, not pictured, just get pale and then drop leaves.

I was surprised at the additional amount of color change in just one day...here's a follow-up pic. This is unusually good fall color for me!

It's good to see some color. My Tridents are green and brown. But then again it's 76 degrees as I type. I take the good with the bad, or the bad with the good depending on how you look at it. Thanks for the colors John! Oh yeah, I did see a Liquid amber today with a tinge of red but I didn't have my camera with me.

John,
Beautiful color there, nice work! Have some color on an elm, but my maples lost out this year, nothing that pronounced.

Perhaps a pot from Horst?

Nice pot suggestion from Horst. I have a few of his pots, but perhaps it's time to make a wish list!

I was shocked when I saw something red in my lawn last night. The lighting is not enough to really see out there, and I couldn't understand what was in front of my japanese maple (landscape.) I went out there and was dumbfounded that the leaves on my japanese maple were a bright red. (I get home after dark and leave before light so I haven't gotten to appreciate it this fall.)

We're finally getting some.

I am a great fan of Horsts pots. The pot I suggested might be great when in fall colors, I am not sure if it looks as good during other seasons. I guess you have to buy and try

Horst has another glaze I like a lot...perhaps more suitable for multi-season display.
