Elm Semi-cascade In Stonemonkey Pot

Last week a parcel arived for me. Inside was this little crescent pot from bonsaiTALK member Stonemonkey. The pot is a little cracker, with a wonderful colour and shape.

I has a chinese elm kicking around with a very straight parallel trunk and a low branch. I pruned the trunk off and what was left fitted quite nicely into the pot.

I am not showing this as a finished composition, the tree needs some more work yet. Any suggestions as to how to proceed are welcome.

Thanks again for the pot Andy.

Regards,

Chris.

Excellant! It's like the elm was made for the pot, or is that visa versa?

I take it this is a good thing. We need a definition for Treebeard's Dictionary of Concise English Slang
though...

Matt

Matt, Yeah, that's a good thing...

Will, pure serendipity that the two match. When it stops raining here I will wire it.

Regards,

Chris.

Hi Chris

The composition looks great. Good choice of tree to put in the pot. Glad that you like it! I will watch this space for all future work on this little gem.

Take Care

Regards

Andy

Mr. Tree-herder:

Since you welcomed suggestions, I will mention that I think I saw this line in your tree which may be interesting. It's hard to tell in 2-D, so I may just be confuse. Anyway, if this line is there, it may be a cool idea to reduce the trunk to this line and have a low-lying, rounded crown coming out from here.

FWIW,
pootsie
