Fred

Thanks.

Have you managed to get the Nebari to develop?

My guide on nebari for quince is Colin Lewis. What he says is to raise the plant in successive pottings to expose the upper roots. I can confirm that this works, even if you don't have much rootage to start with. Leave it planted as is for a couple of years, and then, when you are going to repot it, give your tree a higher planting. The roots you expose will thicken rapidly over the next few years. With bonsai quince in the clump style, much of what people take for the "trunk" is actually fused roots.

So, with the quince that is the subject of this posting, I have raised it a couple of times, with good results.
